Kasey Mueller Fine Art Collector Series After The Storm

Limited Edition · 1 of 12 — Edition one

Captured in the heart of Yellowstone on a brutal winter day nearing -47°F, After the Storm documents the immediate aftermath of a predator-prey encounter. Moments before this image was taken, the Wapiti wolf pack had brought down the matriarch of this herd. What remained was motion—urgent, unified, and instinctive. Led now by a new matriarch, the herd surged forward through the cold, their breath and bodies carving through snow and wind. There is no hesitation in her stride. Leadership, in this moment, is not claimed—it is assumed. The others follow, not out of uncertainty, but because survival demands it. Photographed at ground level, the perspective places you directly in their path—their mass, their momentum, their quiet determination filling the frame. Frost gathers on their faces, snow lifts beneath their hooves, and the world narrows to movement alone. And then, just as suddenly as they appeared, they were gone—leaving the road, dissolving into the white of a rising blizzard as if they had never been there at all. This fine art print captures more than a fleeting encounter. It holds a moment of transition—of loss, resilience, and the unbroken continuity of the herd. It is a study in strength under pressure, and a reminder that in the wild, the line moves forward… no matter what is left behind.
